The Futures Furniture Business Directory is a business directory of designers, manufacturers, and retailers who believe in furniture for the future. Their products have an impact on all of us. This Directory focuses on furniture and furnishings for the residential and commercial space. Our mission is to raise awareness about the furniture industry on a “green” scale and connect consumers with products that are good for their environment. We believe both new and refurbished products can save substantial amounts of energy through designs that are practical, yet beautiful and genuinely green.

Our goals are as follows:

To raise awareness of sustainability issues.

To assist companies in sharing their good practices.

To serve as a marketing partner.

Do we sell products on our site?

We connect consumers to the companies directly. Our goal is to showcase environmentally friendly products to everyone. We present products and services and allow you to shop based on your personal shade of green. Consider us your personal shoppers. And if you see a company that should be listed, let us know!

What makes us green?

We work from our homes and commute by walking or riding our bikes when possible.

We volunteer in our community and help out with eco friendly, green programs when possible. Some of our favorite green programs are the Yampa Valley Recycles, Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, and the Yampa Valley Stream Improvement Charitable Trust. In 2010 we will volunteer and hope to have our own garden at the new Steamboat Springs Community Garden. We recycle all our paper waste and ink cartridges, use LED lighting, buy only recycled paper, and recycle all plastic, glass, paper, etc. 

Our marketing materials are made only with recycled materials.

Sponsor green events when we can. As an example, In 2010 we are a Sponsor of ECOngress2010 through the Sustainable Furnishing Council. In 2009, we sponsored a community event: Yampa Valley Sustainability Summit to promote sustainability on a local level.

Do we have an Affiliate Program?

No. However, with our A-Z Eco LifeStyle Directory, we participate in some Affiliate programs, such as LinkShare Referral Program and ShareASale. Not all listings are part of an affiliate program.

While some of the products listed on our site are greener than others, the finished goods offered are more planet and people friendly, than their conventional counterparts.
